About Us

HeatHack is the result of a Beltane Public Engagement Fellowship awarded in 2014 to Jean Carletta of the University of Edinburgh’s School of Informatics. Informatics and Engineering have both provided support to the programme in the form of electronics supplies and access to commercial instrumentation in return for engaging Edinburgh’s higher education students. We thank them for this support.

HeatHack developed further with a 2015 grant from Scientists in Congregations Scotland to two Edinburgh churches – City of Edinburgh Methodist Church with support from volunteers at Christ Church Morningside.  Scientists in Congregations was funded by the John Templeton Foundation.  We are grateful for their support.

Jean Carletta runs HeatHack as an informal voluntary organisation. She is an official visitor of the University of Edinburgh, and works for the University of St Andrews in the School of Computer Science.
